Keyloggers should give everyone a reason to feel uncomfortable when typing sensitive information on a computer. If you don't want to risk losing account numbers or passwords, Virtual Keyboard can help you. The name alone is a sufficient explanation for the application's functionality. You can type any lengths of text by clicking a virtual keyboard's buttons. The application works independently from your hardware and operating system, which means that keyloggers will not be able to pick up your typed information.

Virtual Keyboard is distributed as a shareware application, which means that you may use it, free of charge, for a limited period of time, after which you must purchase a license. It does not use too many resources and it is compatible with all popular Windows versions. If you intend to use it on Windows XP or an earlier version, you should make sure that .NET Framework 2.0 or higher is installed on your computer.

Obviously, the user interface consists of a virtual keyboard and you may click its buttons to input letters, numbers and other symbols. The real keyboard can be used as well. You can type your text, on the same interface, using both methods. Options for copying, cutting and pasting are available on a toolbar. When you are done typing, you can select and copy your text and paste it in external applications.

Virtual Keyboard can send your text directly to other applications, while you type. Selecting this transfer mode will hide the text input field, but you can still type with the virtual keyboard. Instead of typing on the same interface, the virtual keyboard will type on other windows. Besides setting the application to react to a hardware keyboard, you can also set it to react to mouse hovers. While this feature is active, the application will type a letter or another symbol, if you hover with the mouse cursor over the corresponding button, for a certain amount of time. It is also possible to show and customize pattern symbols on individual buttons.

The keyboard layout can be customized. By default, the virtual keyboard is set to English (QWERTY), but you can select many other languages and layouts, in the general settings menu. The same settings can be made for the pattern symbols layout as well.

Pros

The virtual keyboard can be used to type on the application's interface or on other windows. You may select different keyboard layouts, show pattern symbols and letter symbols, according to the Shift state. Besides clicking the virtual keyboard's buttons, you can use the hardware keyboard as well.

Cons

You can send a maximum of 20 symbols to external applications, while using the unregistered version. Virtual Keyboard gives you the possibility of typing your information in a simple and comfortable manner, without letting it fall prey to keyloggers.
